GIVING BACK
Along with our enthusiasm for making delicious wines, we are also passionate about preserving our natural world and planet, and supporting organizations that are working against climate change. Your belief in our wine, and your dedication to improving our environment has allowed us to give over $75k to our important partners. SURFRIDER FOUNDATION
The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's ocean, waves and beaches for all people through a powerful activist network. Surfrider fights for reducing plastic pollution, ocean protection, coastal preservation and clean water, and demands action on climate change.
Thirty four years ago a group of surfers from Malibu, California, were concerned about the health risks associated with environmental threats posed by escalating coastal development at their favorite surf spot. They took action. Not even they could have envisioned the history they were making when they succeeded in protecting their beloved surf spot.
Since its inception in 1984, the Surfrider Foundation has evolved into one of the largest non-profit grassroots organizations with a volunteer-activist network dedicated to its mission to protect and enjoy the world's oceans, waves and beaches.
COOL EFFECT
Cool Effect is a San Francisco Bay Area 501(c)(3) non-profit that allows individuals to create a tangible impact on climate change through a digital platform, providing consistent funding to the highest-quality carbon reducing-projects around the world.
Cool Effect was founded on the passionate belief that individual support of projects will create a cumulative effect that will reduce and prevent carbon pollution. Like The Butterfly Effect, The Ripple Effect, and others, a single action can have global impact. The organization's mission is to ignite planet-sized change.
Working with Cool Effect, we neutralize our winery’s carbon footprint each year (266 tonnes).
GLASS HALF FULL
Like most good things, it started with a bottle of wine…
Glassroots recycles wine bottles to help build climate resilience in New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana. They are reimagining glass waste as a community and environmental asset. In 2018, only 107 tons of glass were recycled across the entire state of Louisiana.
Since opening the first Glassroots drop-off in fall 2022, they have expanded to 17 drop-offs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and have helped Glass Half Full recycle over 4,000 tons of glass! Grassroots provides recycling centers primarily collecting wine and beer bottles that would otherwise be put in the landfill. At their facility in New Orleans, this glass is ground into sand, filled into burlap sacks and used for rebuilding coastline and creating more areas for native coastal plants.
